Several media outlets suggest that AC Milan has already identified successors to sensational Gianluigi Donnarumma, should the 18-year-old goalkeeper fail to sign a contract extension.
Donnarumma’s present contract is expiring by the end of next season, but the club is yet to reach an agreement on his renewal.
La Repubblica reports that the club has offered a sum of €3.5m per season to the goalkeeper which includes a release clause if the Rossoneri fail to make it to the Champions League campaign next year.
However, Marco Fassone, the club CEO, said yesterday that the club wouldn’t wait forever for the player’s extension.
On loan at Roma, Wojciech Szczesny has been identified as a potential replacement for Donnarumma as both Gazzetta Dello Sport and Tuttosport have reported. The 28-year-old Polish international joined AS Roma from Arsenal back in July 2015 on a season-long loan.
FC Porto’s Iker Casillas and Federico Marchetti of Lazio are the other possible alternatives.
