Brazilian defender Alex won’t be offered a contract extension by AC Milan, and will likely be departing Italy altogether.
Preferring a move back to Brazil, the 33-year-old is close to joining Santos on a free transfer, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
Alex, a former Chelsea centre-back kicked off his career with the Brazilian club and is close to return to his native country after playing for PSV, Chelsea, Milan and PSG.
He played 25 times for Milan in Serie A in 2015/16, scoring three goals, including the decisive opener in the Derby della Madonnina early this year.
