Atalanta 1-1 Milan: Player Ratings

By Ahmed Khalifa -

Gerard Deulofeu was the hero for AC Milan as he produced a late equaliser as the Rossoneri drew 1-1 in Atalanta.

The result means that Milan stay six points behind La Dea, but could clinch sixth spot with a win at home to Bologna.

Who impressed for Vincenzo Montella’s side?

Starting XI

Donnarumma (7 MOTM): The young goalkeeper could’ve done better with the initial save which ended up in a rebound goal for Atalanta, but overall put on a incredible performance.

Gomez (6.5): Starting his first game since February, the Paraguayan did exceptionally well in defense as he is adapting to Italian football. He was a beast in the Rossoneri defense.

Zapata (5.5): After being the hero of the Milan Derby, the Colombian has had a string of below average performances and this game is included. He was lost in the Milan defense.

Romagnoli (6.5): Alessio was missed in the Milan back line. It was a great performance from the Italian and he controlled the defense well on his return to the pitch from injury.

Kucka (5.5): The Slovak was playing out of position as a right wing back, as we could clearly see, and didn’t put on a performance for the away side.

Suso (6): He has been looking out of sorts lately and you could see that the Spaniard was playing out of position as he hasn’t made as much an impact as we’d hoped.

Montolivo (5.5): After months on the sideline, il capitano made his return to the centre of the Rossoneri midfield. He did well in the first half but not too good in the second.

Pašalić (5.5): The Croatian midfielder hasn’t done much throughout the game, but missed a great opportunity to tie the score for the away side early in the second half.

De Sciglio (6.5): Mattia played in the wing back position we’ve seen his best performances in and he was solid defensively, but could’ve done better offensively.

Deulofeu (6.5): The Spaniard used speed well to his advantage, causing trouble for the opposition defense and scoring the late equalizer for the Rossoneri.

Lapadula (6.5): Again, as always, the Italian striker was working hard to contribute to the team in any way and got his third assist of the season. Hopefully can score in the coming games.

Substitutions

Bacca (5.5): Coming on for Juraj Kucka to add more attacking power, the Colombian striker didn’t really do much of an impact as he barely threatened the Atalanta defense.

Bertolacci (N/A): Andrea came on to help push for the equalizer but didn’t really had much to the midfield which was pretty much the same without him on.

Vangioni (N/A): The Argentine left back came on late in the match to maybe push for a winner or help out in defense to keep the scores tie and get the point for the Rossoneri.

The Coach

Montella (6): With an injury crisis in the squad’s defense, the Italian tactician had to switch to a 3-5-2 formation. His choices were a bit questionable, but he managed to pick up an away point in Milan’s race for a Europa League spot.
