Barcelona will ‘carefully evaluate’ re-signing Everton winger, Gerard Deulofeu, who is currently on loan at AC Milan.
Deulofeu’s club situation seems to become increasingly confusing every year. Now, the spaniard is tied in the ownership of three clubs. While being on loan at Milan, the Spaniard is officially a player of Everton, but a €12m price tag remains over his head for former club Barcelona to snatch when they please.
There has been increased speculation that Barcelona will buy back the 23-year-old, however sporting director Robert Fernandez has taken a more cautious approach to the potential of reclaiming Deulofeu.
Fernandez told ANSA “We can exercise the option to take him back, and we’ll carefully evaluate that.”
Deulofeu is having an encouraging season with AC Milan since he arrived on loan in January, since then scoring twice in 12 Serie A appearances. Fernandez commented on the Spaniards form, saying “He’s doing well, but for now the most important thing is for him to keep doing it with the utmost calm.”
Would a move back to Barcelona be the correct step in the career for Deulofeu, as adequate game time would of course be questionable. For now, the winger will see out the season with AC Milan.
