Benatia considering Milan move despite Juve agreement

By Oliver Fisher -

It is no secret that Milan are searching for a partner in the centre of the defence for young talent Alessio Romagnoli.

Mateo Musacchio of Villarreal has been heavily linked in the past fortnight, but the rossoneri may have turned their attentions to Germany.

Sky Sport Italia claim Medhi Benatia is still deciding between joining Juventus and Milan after his current club Bayern set the terms for his departure.

The defender described his time in Germany as the “most difficult two years of my career” as he has struggled to make an impact in Bavaria.

Gianluca Di Marzio stated that Juventus have agreed terms with Bayern to take him on loan with option to buy for €20m.

However, this is where Milan step in as they are trying to convince the 29-year-old that a move to San Siro would be better for his game time.

For the time being, it is difficult to see where Benatia would slot in to an already established Juventus back line, unless Leonardo Bonucci was to leave.

Milan’s approach may be hindered by the ongoing takeover talks, as they might not be able to submit a formal offer without the money of the Chinese consortium.
