CM: AC Milan defender to leave on loan in January

By Isak Möller -

Matte Gabbia could be on his way out, at least on loan. After impressing many during the pre-season, including Giampaolo, the defender could leave in January to get more playing time under his belt.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, the youngster will most likely be sent out on loan in January, as the return of Mattia Caldara is only a matter of time. Once the latter is back, there will be no space for Gabbia to continue his growth.

In the summer, the Rossoneri rejected four offers for the defender, according to TuttoMercatoWeb. However, as Giampaolo is cautious when it comes to changes in the defence, Gabbia will struggle to get playing time if he stays until the season’s end.

Given the amount of interest in the summer, Milan should have no issues with finding him a new club for the remaining six months of the season. Then again, a lot can happen before it’s time for the January transfer window.
