CM: AC Milan launch plan to beat Bayern Munich to Italy wonderkid

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are head-to-head with Bayern Munich in the battle to land ChievoVerona star Emanuel Vignato, a report claims.

Despite a dismal season for the Verona based club, Vignato was a silver lining as he enjoyed an exciting breakthrough, scoring one and adding an assist in eight games.

That came after he had amassed five goals in 12 appearances for the Primavera side, and he also has four goals in 14 appearances for Italy’s U18s.

In June, reports in the Italian press linked Milan – as well as Inter and Bayern – with a move for the 18-year-old.

Now, Calciomercato.com report that Bayern ‘currently have a slight advantage in the race’ but that the Rossoneri ‘have an ace up their sleeve’.

Milan have ‘been in contact with Chievo and the player’s agent for weeks’, and they are ready to try and bring down his €8million asking price with counterparts in the deal.

The two names mentioned were Gian Filippo Feliciol and Matteo Gabbia, who could go the other way in a potential operation that could bring a talented youngster to the San Siro.
