CM: AC Milan’s renewal plan for Musacchio

By Isak Möller -

As the transfer window has closed, AC Milan can now focus fully on internal matters, such as contract renewals. According to Calciomercato.com, the clubs have scheduled talks with Mateo Musacchio for this exact reason.

The former Villarreal man is keen on cementing his spot in the starting eleven, the report continues, and Giampaolo has been impressed with his attitude thus far. In fact, the manager labelled him as one of the leaders of the team during today’s press conference at Milanello (via MilanNews.it).

By the looks of it, therefore, Caldara and Duarte will have to work hard in order to climb the pecking order, which currently seems to be pretty set. The Argentine defender started the first two games of the season, and is tipped to start against Hellas Verona tomorrow as well (via MilanNews.it).

In the spring, a summit will take place between the Rossoneri management and the player’s agent Lombilla, as stated in the report by Calciomercato.com. The current deal expires in 2021 and the plan is to extend it for one more year.
