Di Marzio: AC Milan working on Suso’s renewal

By Grégory Leclercq -

Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that both Suso and AC Milan wish to find a solution and extend his stay at San Siro.

Milan fans have been reading a lot about several teams who were potentially willing to acquire Suso, as Roma, Tottenham and Inter were the most heavily linked. In truth they might be relieved to hear that the player will most likely pen down a new contract.

In fact, Suso (23), whose full name is Jesús Joaquín Fernández Sáez de la Torre, has become a fan favourite since his return from what seemed like a revealing loan spell at Genoa in the second part of the 2015-2016 season.

Milan’s number 8 is a highly creative and technically gifted right-attacking winger who has shown high potential to the San Siro. Most fans will recognize his solid performance during last year’s first Derby della Madonnina in which he scored a brace against Milan’s all-time rivals, Inter.

Di Marzio suggests that there have been new contacts made between Massimo Mirabelli (Milan’s sporting director) and Alessandro Lucci (Suso’s agent) in order to plan encounters between all parties at Casa Milan next week and finally settle a new deal.

There is no doubt that the board as well as the coach, Vincenzo Montella, are hoping to count on Suso for the upcoming season, at least, while fans will be hoping to call him one of Milan’s star for many years to come.
