Born in Seriate, Bergamo, Italy on 13 April 1998, Marco Iucida is one of Milan’s most promising young center backs. SempreMilan had the pleasure of sitting down with the 19-year-old to ask him about his life on and off the pitch.
You are a center-back, but where else do you enjoy playing on the field?
“Central defender is fine, but I also like to play in front of the defense!”
Was it difficult to leave your family in order to join Milan?
“I live in Bergamo, so I go back and forth between Milano and Bergamo every day.”
The distance between Milano and Bergamo isn’t all that far apart. The two cities are just 52 kilometers apart, in fact Milan and Atalanta (based in Bergamo), are two of the three Lombardy clubs in Serie A.
How did you end up in the Milan academy system?
“I used to play for one of Milan’s feeder teams. Then, Milan signed me and now I’m here.”
Who is your idol?
“My idol is Alessandro Nesta.”
What are your hopes and aspirations for for the future?
“I hope to win the Primavera title this year with my teammates. For the future we will see.”
If you weren’t a footballer, what would you be?
“I think that I would do some business in the field of economics, because I study business in school.”
What is your favorite meal?
“My favorite dish is pizza.”
Xbox or Playstation 4? And what is your favorite video game?
“Playstation 4. My favorite game is obviously FIFA.”
