Fassone: “It will be an intense transfer market”

By Anthony Torgrude -

New AC Milan CEO, Marco Fassone, gave a statement briefly following the 2-1 defeat to Cagliari on Sunday.

“We’ve just been spectators in these last games of the season. I’ve found a big and a structured club. It’s adequate to think big. We will try to build something big to bring Milan back among the top clubs in European football.”

“There are many meeting and ideas on the mercato. We have the chance to make big investments it’s thanks to the budget that the new owners have granted us. Despite that, the revenue has not increased. It will be an intense transfer market, we will wait for August 31 to make our evaluations but we will put all our efforts.”

When asked about Donnarumma’s future Fassone had this to say: “We consider Donnarumma a very important player, we told his agent, he knows we are willing to make reasonable sacrifices.”

Now moving onto the topic of Coach Montella, the CEO reassured his confidence in the skipper. “We work very well with Vincenzo, he coaches very well on the pitch. He is surely our coach for next season. I am convinced that Montella will be the coach that will bring us back to the top.”

  1. Our last game was again a poor performens from us! So i don”t understand, why we did not play whit the same tacticks, and i mean whit three central defenders like we did against Bolgna a week a go whit great success! Perhaps our material in defense was to poor, but i personally think that Gustavo Gomez should have played! As far as transfers are consern, we should have Musacchio and Kessie already on deals, which both are great upgrades to our starting line-up. So we must spend rest off our money wisely to young and up-coming star players, who will fit to our teams young core perfectly! And our options for defense are: left-back Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolsburg, right-back Andrea Conti from Sassuolo and to a central defense Stefan De Vriev from Lazio or Rodrigo Caio. Then as far as midfield are consern, we should still buy one world class midfielder to our team, who i hope will be Corentin Tolisso from Lyon, but if we can”t, then we should sign Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid, but we must not spend any money on old quick fixes like Fabregas or Modric! As far as strikers are consern, we should try real hard to sign either Shelsea”s Michy Batshuayi or Man City”s Kelechi Iheanacho!
