Fiorentina 0 – 0 AC Milan: Player Ratings

Starting XI:

Donnarumma (8 – MOTM): It’s becoming more and more of a shock knowing that Gigio is only 17-years-old. He totally bossed his penalty area and made some incredible saves to keep the scores level.

Calabria (6): A few mistakes here and there, most noticeably the penalty, Davide had a so-and-so performance. The young full-back made some good runs down the right flank as well as good crosses.

Paletta (8): A rock in the defense, the Argentine-Italian put in another solid performance at the back not giving the opposition attack any clear chances.

Romagnoli (6.5): Another less than good performance from the young Italian centre back compared to the usual but he did make some good clearances and tackles to stop the Viola offense.

De Sciglio (5.5): A poor performance from the full-back who made a number of mistakes at the back which could’ve led to goals. Could’ve made up for it with a goal which he came close to scoring.

Kucka (6.5): Our tank in midfield. The Slovak didn’t have the best of games especially compared to his usual performances but did do well in the midfield of the Red & Blacks. Juraj did better in defensive and midfield play than he did in the attack.

Montolivo (7): Riccardo actually had another great match putting in a fine performance against his former club at the Artemio Franchi. Il Capitano came close to getting an assist on numerous occasions in the match.

Bonaventura (6): We’re still waiting for the Jack of the Rossoneri to regain his great form after another performance not good enough for his standards.

Suso (6): Not the best of games from the Spaniard who did make some good attacking moves but barely created chances for his teammates and of his own.

Bacca (6): The Colombian goalscorer didn’t do much in this game. Was mostly isolated and barely given any chances mainly due to the fact that the Rossoneri were playing defensively.

Niang (6): The young Frenchman didn’t have a great match. He needs to focus and get his head in the game. Decision making definitely needs much more improving.

Substitutions:

Locatelli (6): It’s good to see Montella giving young Manuel a hand full of playing time under his belt to slowly slot him into the first team. He’s had a good match since coming on, the midfielder, and almost got an assist at the closing minutes of the match.

Antonelli (N/A): It wasn’t quite clear where the left-back was playing after he entered the pitch but it did look like he was on the left-wing. He put in a few crosses that weren’t quite good enough to create something.

Adriano (N/A): Coming on to maybe get more of this game, the Brazilian got close after being clear on goal. A tackle from behind on the striker was not penalized, though.

The Coach:

Montella (6): Returning to the Artemio Franchi as Rossoneri coach, Vincenzo’s team didn’t look like they went to win. They did look like they were looking to go out with 1 point and that is what they did with a clean sheet to go with it. The substitutions could’ve been better, though the fact that the Italian is giving youngsters chances is great news.
