Florenzi believes Milan are lacking ‘clarity’ and adds: “We all have to row on the same side”

By Oliver Fisher -

Alessandro Florenzi offered an honest reflection after AC Milan suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Udinese at San Siro tonight.

Udinese arrived having not won a game in the league all season, but Milan greeted them with a lethargic performance where they struggled to get going and ask the right questions.

The only goal of the game came via controversy as a penalty was awarded and upheld for what looked like very little contact, and Roberto Pereyra slotted it home to give Cioffi’s side a huge three points, plunging Stefano Pioli’s men deeper into a crisis.

Florenzi spoke to Sky Italia after the game to try and pick apart what was another very frustrating night for the team in front of their own fans, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“I’ll start from afar. The performance against Juve up until the sending off and even after was really good, we definitely did something wrong against PSG, in Naples we deserved to win based on what we showed,” he began.

“Tonight we lacked something. Clarity, we lost many balls. In my opinion it all starts from the clarity that is needed in certain moments. I’ll give an example but it’s not to judge, if at the beginning of the second half Reijnders’ strike goes in, the game changes. But tonight it seemed like the game that if you shoot 25 times it just won’t go in.

“We all have to row on the same side, from the first to the last at Milanello, from the first to the last fans who are important to us and who demonstrated it tonight too, they sang from the beginning to the end.”

  1. Leoa and musah should be called out for being too predictable.

Jovic’s loan deal should be terminated ASAP.

How can our fullbacks be the only players making meaningful off the ball movements while attacking??? Awful

    1. Leao was genuinely passing me off tonight, got past his defender so many times, and then the worst passes he’s ever made… musah just seemed horrified for some reason because he never beat his man outwide

    2. Does it mean that Moncada and Furlani are going to get fired next year. Obviously Pioli isn’t doing anything wrong here. He can do only as much as the players available at his disposal.

      1. playing a 4-4-2 that we never did before is surely a genius move. Every player seemed lost and out of position.
His strategy was pretty much play long to Leao.
Even with those injuries, we should be able to beat like Udinese quite easily.

  2. It was world class asisst for udinese striker florenzi, well done mate. And he is afraid to try young players while flo and calabria doing these kind of fails all the time,i just cant stand it….
