From England: Arsenal set to make offer for Andre Silva

By Oliver Fisher -

Arsenal could make a shock move for AC Milan striker Andre Silva, according to the latest reports from England.

The Sun claim that the Premier League side were chasing Silva in the summer before he joined AC Milan for €38million, and they are willing to give the Portugal international a “way out” in the summer.

The Rossoneri could be set for financial problems if they fail to make the top four, with Adidas and Audi already reportedly splitting with the club who invested over €200 million invested on 11 new signings in the summer.

With Financial Fair Play so prevalent in modern football, Milan may be forced to sell key assets. Arsenal meanwhile may lose both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, so someone like Silva would be a welcome replacement.

Silva has scored nine goals in World Cup qualification for his country, and has amassed another six in the Europa League with Milan, but he is still goal-less in Serie A.

Competition from Nikola Kalinic and Patrick Cutrone has meant he has been unable to nail down a starting spot in all competitions.
