Gabbia praises the impact of Ibrahimovic: “He is a champion, he stimulates you”

AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia has become the latest to praise new arrival Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the impact he has had on the club.

Since officially sealing his return to the Rossoneri at the start of last month, Stefano Pioli’s side have lost just one game in all competitions, that being the 4-2 derby defeat to Inter during which the Nerazzurri were outplayed for 45 minutes.

The latest success came on Monday night when Milan beat Torino 1-0 in Serie A at San Siro, with Ante Rebic getting the decisive goal in the first half to haul the Diavolo level on points with the Europa League places.

During the game, Matteo Gabbia made his league debut for Milan, coming on as a first half substitute for the injured Simon Kjaer and playing an important role in keeping the visiting side at bay.

After the game, the 20-year-old spoke about Ibrahimovic during an interview with SportMediaset’s microphones, and his words were transcribed by MilanNews.it.

“He is a champion. He stimulates you, he helps you, he is a champion on and off the field. I will certainly try to watch him every second for learn a few tricks,” Gabbia revealed.
