Gattuso ‘annoyed’ as Milan forced to train indoors ahead of Coppa clash

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso has admitted he is annoyed that the team has been forced to train indoors ahead of Wednesday’s Coppa Italia clash.

A flurry of snow in the north of Italy has caused chaos in the sporting sphere, with Juventus seeing their match against Atalanta postponed not long before kick-off on Sunday.

Now, the snow has reached Rome, causing Milan to train indoors.

“We must keep this level of performance up. Now we’re focused on Wednesday,” he told Milan TV.

“We’re a bit annoyed: snow hadn’t been seen in Roma for years. We’ve worked in the gym, but I’d have preferred us to work on the pitch.

“We must recover our energy and think about our upcoming games. We’ll play every three days.

“We must raise the bar because we face teams with great individuals. We must show compactness and keep up how we’ve playing for the last two months.

“Lazio? We must be attentive to their quality. They’re hard to tackle, they have quality players.

“They’re a well-built team, who combine quality and quantity, so we have to be careful and have the perfect match.

“The most important thing is to recover our energy and gain a better understanding of how we execute our gameplan and face certain teams.”
