Gattuso: “I am worried about the fatigue of individual players”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has admitted he is worried about the way his side tired in the second-half of a 1-1 draw away at Torino on Wednesday night.

After Andrea Belotti had missed an early penalty, Giacomo Bonaventura scored with a sensational half-volley to give Milan the lead.

However, Lorenzo De Silvestre equalised from a corner in the second-half to ensure Toro got a deserved share of the spoils.

Gattuso began by addressing the fitness of Leonardo Bonucci, who picked up a knock, and Lucas Biglia, who was forced off in the seconds half.

“Leo took a knock two days ago, he has hardened and tomorrow we will evaluate, I hope that for Biglia there are no muscular problems.

“Calhanoglu was not available. Calabria is in better condition but we must be careful not to risk him, he is a young boy and we have to manage him.”

On Kalinic: “It is his characteristic to attack the front post. We have to be better, but this is a characteristic that he has, in his career he has scored goals.”

On the team: “I am worried about the fatigue of the individual players, 25 days are missing at the end of the season, all the teams are tired but some single worries me.

“In the last few minutes we were tiring, and we suffered in the last minutes; I would not underestimate the exit of Biglia, Suso was a bit tired today, and on the goal we fell asleep, Torino could have also won.”
