Gattuso: “It was a deserved victory”

By Fred Ilondo -

Milan kick off their year the best way possible by defeating Crotone at San Siro with ease. Despite a few controversial decisions made by the referee, Coach Gattuso seems satisfied with the result as he thinks his team deserved the three points.

“In the first 70 minutes, we had a great game. After the canceled goals we dropped, but it is a deserved victory.” The Milan boss told Premium sport.

At the end of the game, the referee judged necessary to add seven more minutes of additional time and many fans are still confused about the decision and so was Gattuso at that moment.

“I got angry, but then Romeo explained to me the reasons and the referee was right. I apologized but I was tense at the end.”

The coach also had strong words for his young striker who put up yet another solid performance even though he did not get his name on the score sheet.

“It’s true that [Cutrone] makes the difference when he enters the field. He looks a bit like Massaro.”

”We are creating a lot, but we tickle opponents. We have to continue like this, at this moment we are playing with 4-3-3, then we will see if we can play with the two strikers later.” Gattuso added.

As for some players who have been receiving criticism from fans for not meeting the expectation like Lucas Biglia and Nikola Kalinic, Coach Gattuso remains positive.

“Lucas must be stopped during training, he always trains to death. The game helps to find brilliance. I’m alternating him and Montolivo and so far things are going well.”

“Kalinic took a blow on the ankle and did everything to recover. I can not afford to judge. We need our fans, who have to support all the players.”
