Report: Mirabelli meets Torino for Belotti; Milan have “fresh optimism”

By Oliver Fisher -

Milan have been one of the most active Italian sides in the transfer window so far this summer as they look to build a team good enough to challenge at the top of Serie A next season.

New CEO Marco Fassone and Sporting Director Massimi Mirabelli have already closed out deals for Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie and Andre Silva and according to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), the Rossoneri have not given up hope of landing Italian striking sensation Andrea Belotti.

Reports on Wednesday state that Mirabelli is currently meeting with Torino sporting director Petrachi and that Belotti is not ruled out. Torino also have an interest in defender Cristian Zapata.

Of course, Milan are not alone in their admiration of the 23-year-old and the power brokers are aware of just how difficult it will be to twist the arm of Toro patron Urbano Cairo, but a new found optimism is sweeping across Milanello and their pursuit of one of the country’s hottest properties looks set to continue.

It’s also understood that the Rossoneri have set up a meeting with Fiorentina Sporting Director Pantaleo Corvino and the player who is the subject of that meeting is Croatian striker Nikola Kalinic. Excitement has returned to Il Diavoli ahead of the new campaign.
