GdS: Fiorentina remain keen on Suso but deal is ‘almost impossible’

By Oliver Fisher -

Fiorentina are still keen on the idea of signing AC Milan star Suso but he remains a difficult objective, a report claims.

The Spaniard has been the subject of intense speculation this summer amid reports that the club were looking to sell him as he does not fit into the 4-3-1-2 system Marco Giampaolo wants to use.

However, Suso quickly transformed opinion with a number of good performances in preseason playing in behind the front two.

Marco Giampaolo for his part has declared his desire to keep the player, while it has been claimed that Lyon saw an opening bid for Suso rejected.

Roma have also been credited with interest in the 25-year-old, and earlier in the month Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina first emerged as a surprise potential suitor.

The speculation went cold however as La Viola appeared to be focusing on other targets and are unlikely to pay the €35m+ asking price for Suso.

Despite this, Wednesday’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the former Liverpool man is still strongly liked by the Montella.

He is even reportedly their first choice to reinforce their attacking department, but it remains an ‘almost impossible’ coup to pull off.
