GdS: Formation change to suit the Milan players

By Isak Möller -

According to today’s edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport (via PianetaMilan), as had been expected, Giampaolo is ready to completely scrap the 4-3-1-2 formation in favour of the 4-3-3, having tested a 4-3-2-1 against Brescia last time out.

The reason behind the change, just one game into the season, is the players at Giampaolo’s disposal. The manager feels that he needs to make the change in order to get the best out of his players, such as Piatek and Suso, the newspaper claims.

The Polish striker has failed to break his ‘goal-drought’ thus far and a goal on Sunday evening, when the Rossoneri will face Hellas Verona, would really help boost his confidence. For Suso, meanwhile, it’s a matter of preference according to Gazzetta.

Hopefully, the change will get the team going after a relatively slow start to the season. In just one week, the derby against Inter will take place and Giampaolo’s men will have to be ready.
