It’s no secret that AC Milan have greatly improved under the guidance of its former legend Gennaro Gattuso, getting closer and closer to a Champions League spot.
The club have been enjoying an eight-game unbeaten run in the league with Gattuso. This has seen the side improve in the standings, currently sitting in 6th place with six points off Lazio in fourth. Because of this major improvement, many people now bet on AC Milan on 10Bet.
The club’s summer transfer market saw the likes of Bonucci, Andre Silva, Biglia and many more join the San Siro side as the club made it clear they wanted to return to Champions League.
However, after a bright start to the season, Vincenzo Montella and his team failed to live up to expectations as the Milan outfit were outclassed in several outings.
It seemed as Milan were out of the Champions League race, as the disappointing results continued. The club relieved Vincenzo Montella of his duties on 27th of November while replacing him Gennaro Gattuso.
Since then, the team have enjoyed consistency and confidence as they have played with a certain purpose and meaning, beating the likes of Inter, Lazio, Roma and Sampdoria, after losing all of these games in the first half of the season under Montella.
The Rossoneri have only dropped points in one game this year, as they drew against Udinese away from home. The Rossoneri took the lead in that game, but a Calabria red card invited Udinese to equalise.
AC Milan did, however, lose against Arsenal in the round of 16 in Europa League, in front of their own home crowd. Fortunately, the club responded with a win away to Genoa last weekend, as Andre Silva scored with only seconds to go of added time.
“I’m happy that Andre Silva scored his first Serie A goal,” Gattuso told Mediaset.
“It’s already hard to carry this prestigious jersey, even more so when you are young, but we must continue our work and grow over time, believing in ourselves.”
Gattuso also confirmed how wary he became about his team after the defeat to Arsenal.
“We were worried and I was curious frankly to see how we’d react to our first defeat in two and a half months. I got a good response,” he added.
“I heard a lot of talk about our physical shape against Arsenal, but we simply got the wrong attitude. We had prepared a different approach, but got the first half completely wrong and left them far too many spaces. Arsenal have the quality to put the ball where they want if you give them time and space.”
Gattuso’s men will face a tough challenge on Thursday evening as they will attempt to overturn the aggregate score of 0-2 against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium. What’s certain, however, is that we will see a Milan team with an identity and will to succeed.
