Goal: Barcelona and Juventus leading Milan, Chelsea in race for German playmaker

Barcelona and Juventus are leading AC Milan and a few other teams in the race to sign Hertha Berlin starlet Lazar Samardzic, a report claims.

Milan’s interest in Samardzic has been well documented in the last couple of weeks. Both the Berliner Zeitung and Bild (via GGFN) have named Milan and Chelsea as two clubshaving made offers to the player’s entourage.

MilanNews then added that direct confirmations have arrived regarding Milan’s strong interest in Samardzic. There are continuous contacts with the representatives of the playmaker who Paolo Maldini in particular is leading the charge to sign the the German talent.

According to Goal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Benfica, Atletico Madrid and Milan are all keen on Samardzic, who could be a apparently be a ‘potential heir’ to Kai Havertz.

However, the outlet claim that Barcelona and Juventus are the ones who are in front of the competition at the moment as the transfer saga continues to whir on.

The 18-year-old scored a 40 goals and provided 14 assists in 40 appearances for the club’s U17 side and is tipped for big things.
