Journalist claims Spalletti wants revenge on Inter after ‘betrayal’

By Oliver Fisher -

Luciano Spalletti is motivated to take the reigns at AC Milan and get revenge on Inter after a ‘real betrayal’ by them, one journalist has claimed.

Marco Giampaolo is set to be sacked as Milan boss after a poor start to the season, according to a number of different sources.

Our correspondent Vito Angele confirmed to us earlier on Monday that the Rossoneri have made the decision to sack Giampaolo, with Spalletti the first choice to replace him.

However, he also revealed that it will not be easy due to his contractual situation, as he has a deal with Inter until 2021 so severance must first be agreed.

Gianluca Di Marzio confirmed that Spalletti likes Milan’s project and is ready to join the Rossoneri on a three-year deal, something which Angele confirmed.

Now, all that remains is for him to be freed from his contract at the Nerazzurri and he will be in the dugout at San Siro for the game against Lecce after the international break.

Journalist Luca Calamai believes that getting his own back on Inter is a huge motivation for the 60-year-old.

“Spalletti is very, very close to joining Milan,” he revealed on Twitter.

“Luciano dreams of nothing more than to challenge Inter after what he believes to have been a real betrayal.”
