Kessie: “Lack of experience cost us, we need a win against Genoa”

Franck Kessie spoke to Mediaset after AC Milan’s loss to Arsenal in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16.

Looking back on the disappointing performance, Franck Kessie admits the lack of experience cost Milan the game, while stating that the Rossoneri will do their best on Thursday.

“On the physical aspect, I have no doubt. We were all ready for this type of game. We lacked a bit of experience, this Milan side is very young. We have only two or three players who are used to playing these matches.”

On a possible comeback in the second leg: “In football everything is possible, Milan previously beat Arsenal 4-0 then lost 3-0 in London. It’s still open. Now that we know what we’re dealing with, we’re ready to give everything next Thursday.”

On Gattuso’s comments after the game: “The coach gave a nice speech. We had not lost for months and we must forget about this pitfall immediately and think about the next game.”

On the future: “We have to get the three points against Genoa, now only that game counts. We believe a lot in the possibility of going to the Champions League.”
