Maldini and Boban at work: Torreira and Manolas the goals, lot of focus on midfield

By Nikita Fesyukov -

Yesterday Zvonimir Boban joined the AC Milan management as the club’s Chief Football Officer, while Paolo Maldini was officially named as the head of the technical area of the club. And the duo is already at work for reinforcements for the future coach of the Rossoneri – Marco Giampaolo.

According to Corriere della Sera, the directors consider the midfield as the department that needs most interventions after the departures of many players (Bakayoko, Montolivo, Jose Mauri and Bertolacci).

Stefano Sensi is one of the goals for the midfield, with the player already having given his availability to join the Rossoneri. Next week a meeting is scheduled with Sassuolo representatives to discuss the matter. Other names that interest Milan are Fiorentina’s Veretout and Sampdoria’s Praet.

However, the name that intrigues Milan most is that of Lucas Torreira, who played under Giampaolo during his time at Sampdoria. Arsenal value the player at 35 million euros and the sale of Franck Kessie may be necessary to facilitate a potential deal.

For the defence, Mino Raiola has proposed Kostas Manolas, who seems destined to leave Roma this summer. The Greek defender has a 36 million euros release clause in his contract but the problem is his salary demand, with the player reportedly asking for a salary of 6 million euros net per season. Juventus and Napoli are also interested in him.
