Milan 1 – 3 Roma: Player Ratings

Starting XI:

Donnarumma (7) – Despite conceding three goals, Gigio made a number of incredible saves throughout the match. It could’ve been much worse, really, had it not been for the young goalkeeper.

De Sciglio (7 MOTM) – Arguably his best performance of the season, Mattia had a great match both defensively and offensively and deservedly gets Man Of The Match.

Alex (5) – Not really what we were used to seeing of the Brazilian veteran. He was all over the place and made numerous mistakes which could’ve and did lead to goals for the opposition.

Mexes (6) – Philippe didn’t have a really bad game, barely making any mistakes, but didn’t have a great one either, conceding three goals against his former club.

Romagnoli (7) – For a center-back with not much pace, Alessio did pretty well as a left-back both defensively and offensively against his former club and showed his crossing ability. The 21-year-old then switched back to his favored position when Davide Calabria came on in the second half.

Kucka (6) – Having not being at his best for the past few matches now, Juraj still hasn’t really regained the form which we were accustomed to and couldn’t do much to create problems for the Roma midfield.

Locatelli (6) – Making his first start for the Rossoneri, the 18-year-old midfielder put in a good performance even though he was shaky at times. With more practice and experience, Manuel could well fill that spot in the midfield.

Bertolacci (5) – Another day, another poor performance from the former Roma midfielder. A whole season’s gone by and Andrea has yet to replicate his Genoa performances in a Rossoneri shirt.

Honda (5) – The Samurai didn’t have a really good game overall, having numerous chances at goal, especially two which he definitely should have taken better than he did.

Bacca (5) – Despite scoring the first and only goal for the Rossoneri, and his 18th of the Serie A season, the Colombian hasn’t had a good game mostly due to the lack of service from his teammates.

Balotelli (6) – Mario has yet to get a goal since coming back from injury and has ended his season recording only 1(!!!) goal all season after being subbed off at half time for Luiz Adriano.

Substitutions:

Luiz Adriano (5) – The Brazilian striker didn’t make much of an impact in the game after coming on at half time for Mario Balotelli, barely having any chances on goal.

Bonaventura (6) – Making his return from injury, Jack was introduced in the second half coming on for Andrea Bertolacci. It was a bit of a risk, seeing as the Coppa Italia final is a week away, but Bona needs a bit of match fitness as well as he was needed in the pitch.

Calabria (6) – The young full-back came on for Alex, taking the right-back position which saw De Scilgio go to the left side of defense and Romagnoli back to the heart of defense and got the assist for Carlos Bacca’s goal.
