Tuttosport: Milan to address Diaz transfer situation during World Cup break

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are set to hold talks with Real Madrid during the World Cup to seek some clarity around Brahim Diaz’s future, a report claims.

As has been reported by Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com), the Spaniard is going to be at the end of his two-year loan at Milan when June next comes around.

He will then be required to head back to Real Madrid as they own him but it seems that Milan would like to at least explore the idea of keeping him on a permanent deal.

Technical director Paolo Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara are set to meet with Real Madrid representatives during the break for the Qatar World Cup to discuss a potential new deal for the player.

Milan are likely to fight even harder to keep him than was previously expected after he has produced a wonderful run of form in recent weeks, becoming vital to the Milan system.

  1. He has looked stronger and has been able to keep his balance when bumped by a defender, unlike the previous 2 years .
If he shows consistency, then Milan should absolutely think about it, but that’s still a lot of money for Milan.
It also depends on what position they envision him playing because they already spent 35 million on CDK for the CAM.
I like Brahim more as a 10 than RW because he consistently drifts towards the center, just like Rebic did vs Dinamo.
And if you spend 22 million on Brahim to play him out of position, I’d rather have those money spent on a proper left-footed winger .

  2. Milan aren’t going to pay €22 million. They’ll try to get the figure down to half that. I wouldn’t be surprised if Real Madrid agree. They don’t need him and I don’t think other clubs are interested in him.

    1. If he continues to perform on a high level, then Real Madrid will do just what Barca did with Deulofeu 5 years ago. Barca didn’t need Deulofeu but they used their buyback clause to bring him back just so they can sell him for bigger profit to EPL.
And unless he stinks the rest of the season, there is no way RMadrid will agree to a lower transfer fee, let alone half.
But hopefully he has a great season, helps Milan win the scudetto, copa and supercopa, get to the quarterfinals of UCL and whatever happens, happens in the summer.
