Milan hope to have Romagnoli back for Serie A opener

AC Milan’s star centre-back, Alessio Romagnoli, has been struggling with an injury lately, which has stopped him from taking part in the preseason, as well as the qualifiers against Craiova.

Alessio Romagnoli is, in fact, the only injured AC Milan player at the moment, as he’s got a meniscus problem. The Italian even risked having to undergo knee surgery, but it was decided that conservative therapy is better.

Milan would like to have him back for the Serie A opener against Crotone, and there’s great optimism that he will make it. La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that he will most likely be back for the game unless something unexpected happens.

Until then, the likes of Musacchio, Zapata and Gustavo Gomez will have to prove themselves, as Bonucci is already considered a starter. The standout so far is without a doubt Musacchio, who has been partnering with Zapata in defence. Until Romagnoli returns, it’s almost certain that Musacchio will take his spot.
