Milan ready to give up on chase for Cuadrado

By Oliver Fisher -

Milan may have given up in their pursuit of Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado.

AC Milan’s interest in Rodrigo Bentancur means they would not be able to complete the signing of Juan Cuadrado, as both players have a non-EU status and AC Milan have only one spot available to register players who are from outside the European Union.

The Diavolo’s priority is a midfielder and not a winger, and they would prefer to use the only non-EU player slot left for the Boca Juniors playmaker rather than for the Chelsea winger.

With former Genoa loanee Suso impressing during the pre-season, the Spaniard is not going to be sold in the transfer window and could probably play a vital role in Montella’s AC Milan next season.

Suso’s status at the club might change if AC Milan sign Alejandro Gomez or Adnan Januzaj, but at the moment he’s one of the starters in Montella’s 4-3-3 system.
