MN: AC Milan closing in on two Standard Liege youngsters

By Matt Cahill -

AC Milan find themselves in a bit of a jam awaiting just what will happen with the Club’s finances and just how severe if at all the punishment from UEFA could be.

One way we see the Rosseneri looking to counter this fact, is by signing youth talent from across Europe on small fees or free deals.

Two of these potential new transfers include 16-year-old Goalkeeper Lillo Guarneri and 19-year-old midfielder Alexandro Cavagnera from Standard Liege’s youth teams, according to MilanNews.

The 16-year-old is already at Casa Milan alongside his agent Silvano Martina with both parties hoping to sign a deal soon.

The two Italian born brothers have featured for both for Standard Liege U17s, with Cavagnera featuring now for the reserves while the younger Guarneri has featured for Italy’s U16 squad four times after making just one appearance for the Belgium U15s.

This fact has seen him attract multiple teams in Europe with AC Milan set to pay €500,000 for the 16-year-old. His agent Silvano Martina and him have been pictured at Casa Milan, pushing this deal closer to being finalized in the coming days.

While nothing is agreed with Cavagnera’s camp just yet, it is expected that his agent Christophe Henrotay will be discussing a move to join his younger sibling in AC Milan’s youth setup.
