MN: From Germany to Genoa – Milan battle crazy 72-hour schedule

By Oliver Fisher -

The fixture list has given AC Milan a very demanding schedule, and they will have just one training session before the Genoa game on Saturday.

According to MilanNews, the team will return to Milan shortly at around lunchtime after spending the night in Dortmund, but in 48 hours Stefano Pioli’s team will be back on the field away from home at the Marassi against Genoa.

The Rossoneri will have a session this afternoon which will only be light work for the players who need it, and then tomorrow there will be the customary final session before the game, which will be the only real full training session before returning to the field.

Then on Saturday morning they will leave for Genoa where in the evening they will face the Rossoblu at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. It is the kind of demanding schedule that Maurizio Sarri spoke out about a couple of days ago, though Lazio at least have an extra day off.

  1. It could be that they have to release the international players a certain time before an international match and playing on the Sunday would mean them joining up too late. Not 100% sure if that’s the case this time, but it could be a factor.

    1. The schedule was already set from the start, before the champions league draw and schedule comes out.
But agree, this a ridiculous schedule, specially since both are away games

  2. Sarri wasn’t off his rocker afterall, was he…. I’m hoping for rotation, but we don’t have THAT MANY options to rotate.

Kjaer/FLorenzi, Adli, OKafor, Chukwueze… Maybe Jovic can start?
