Niang tells AC Milan fans: “I’m sorry it ended like this”

M’baye Niang has addressed AC Milan fans in an Instagram message after leaving the club for Torino.

The winger, who was often criticized for his lack of consistency, had finally decided to re-unite with former coach, Sinisa Mihajlovic at Torino on deadline day, ending his stay in the city of Milan after 5 long years.

Niang, who wore a handful of jersey numbers at Milan during his stay, also went out on loan quiet a few times. Montpellier, Genoa and Watford all-being teams he joined temporarily.

After being transferred at “Il Toro”, the frenchman took on Instagram to address the fans and tell them goodbye: “I was a child when I joined 5 years ago, playing for Milan has always been something special”.

Referencing memories he had, including the shot that traumatized every Milan fan a while back, the one that was denied by the post at Barcelona, “It’s time to leave this amazing world. To leave Milan.”.

“There are so many reasons, there would be so much to say, but I only want to say thank you for all you’ve given me,” he added, speaking about his reasons to leave the club.

“All the fuss about these last few days depended from the fact that I wanted to choose, with calm, my destiny. I’m sorry it ended like this” he confessed. “Football can make you become a hero and shortly after you’re the cause of all problems.”

He added that “Milan and Milanisti will always have a place in my heart, in spite of everything”, “I thank who has made me grow, Milan, Milanello, teammates.”

He finally addresses his new challenge in Torino, thanking the Torino board and coach for bringing him there, acknowledging his “infinite will to play and wear the “Granata” jersey.”
