Official: Bonaventura and Mati Fernandez injured; will miss Crotone clash

By Isak Möller -

Double bad news for Vincenzo Montella as the Italian gaffer will have to do without Giacomo Bonaventura and Mati Fernandez for one week at least.

The club have released a medical update on their midfielders claiming that they have both picked up muscular injuries.

Bonaventura has sustained a first degree strain to the bicep of his left thigh, whilst Mati has a picked up a similar injury to the abductor of his right thigh.

AC Milan have announced that both players’ conditions will be monitored in seven days, which means they will be ruled out of the next home Serie A game against Serie A strugglers Crotone.

The players’ recoveries, however, could take longer, especially Mati’s. The Chile International joined AC Milan on a free transfer last summer but has only collected 57 minutes spread onto three appearances so far this season due to several muscular injuries that have highly affected the player in terms of game time.

Mati Fernandez is one of Montella’s favourite players, so much so the Italian tactician wanted the club to sign his former Fiorentina player in the previous transfer window.
