Report: €50m Arsenal man ‘close to joining’ Milan as house hunting begins

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are closing in on the signing of Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to the latest reports from Switzerland.

The Swiss international has not played for the Gunners since an altercation with fans during last month’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

It was confirmed by under pressure manager Unai Emery that Xhaka would not be part of the squad to face Leicester away from home over the weekend as the midfielder chose to rule himself out of the game.

Meanwhile, we recently reported that Milan are determined to add more experience and leadership to a very young squad, and The Guardian – citing reports in Italy – claimed Xhaka could be a name that the Rossoneri target.

Now, Swiss outlet RSI are reporting that Xhaka is looking for a house in Milan as he is closing in on a move to the San Siro.

They claim that the 27-year-old has a broken relationship with Arsenal despite telling the media that he is intent on staying in north London, and will use his relationship with Ivan Gazidis to get a move to Milan.
