RMC Sport: Milan and Lazio fighting for Depay as he reaches stand-off with Lyon

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain in the running to land Lyon star Memphis Depay, a report claims, with the winger having made a decision on his future.

It is seemingly no secret that the Rossoneri are scouring the market for options to bolster an attack which struggled hugely for goals prior to the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose stay beyond the summer is uncertain.

It was reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport last month that Milan are ready to step up interest in Netherlands international Depay, a player Rangnick approves of in terms of his characteristics, while on Tuesday they confirmed the links.

According to the paper RMC Sport – as cited by OnzeMundial – Depay has ‘no real interest’ in carrying on at Lyon beyond the summer and is looking at possible new destinations.

However, none of Europe’s elite have come forward as they seem to be put off by both his difficult spell at Manchester United and his two cruciate ligament injuries.

Milan and Lazio are cited as having interest in the 26-year-old but at the moment the only team making a real play to secure his services are Lyon, but a renewal seems far from plausible at this point.
