Sky: Romagnoli has undergone new medical tests; club statement imminent

Carlos Bacca has been ruled out of AC Milan’s next Serie A game against Empoli but the Rossoneri’s concerns are not only regarding the Colombian striker as Alessio Romagnoli is another big name who could miss next weekend’s league clash.

The Italian defender has undergone new medical tests today. Sky Italia reports that the former Sampdoria star left AC Milan’s training center Milanello alongside doctor Stefano Mazzoni today to undergo new medical tests, which could highlight how long Romagnoli’s full recovery will take.

The Italian defender picked up a muscle injury last week while on International duty with Italy national team. Although his injury was initially not thought to be a serious one, medical tests done before the weekend’s derby left a bitter taste in Montella’s mouth as the Italian tactician had to do without Romagnoli in last weekend’s Milan derby against Inter.

The Serie A giants are expected to release a medical update on the Italian defender in order to know when he might return to action.
