Tuttosport: Rangnick gives approval as Milan eye €40m Real Madrid midfielder

Ralf Rangnick has given the green light for Milan to try and sign Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard this summer, a report claims.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Real Sociedad where he has been hugely impressive, amassing a combined 15 goals and assists for them this season in all competitions.

Despite this, the Norway international still faces an uncertain future. According to Tuttosport (via MilanNews) could make the definitive leap in quality under Rangnick’s guidance, and the German is a big admirer of Odegaard due to his tactical flexibility.

He can play as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or on the right wing and left wing, always with excellent results.

Real Madrid could cut short his loan at Sociedad (until 2021) in order to sell this summer, but in doing so they want to recoup €40million, a figure that Milan are not inclined to spend. However, if the Norwegian pushed to leave Madrid, the Rossoneri could manage to obtain a loan with option to buy.
