Scudetto, top seven, breakout stars and more: SempreMilan predict the 2026-27 season

The time has come again where the SempreMilan editorial staff get to publicly humiliate themselves for your viewing pleasure.

The 2025-26 campaign was clearly a difficult one to call as shown by the fact none of the staff called Inter winning the league under Chivu, while almost everyone had Milan rebounding to finish in the top four, which obviously didn’t happen.

The upcoming season might be even tougher to call given the sheer amount of movement, as often happens. Inter, Juventus, Roma and Como have continued with their coaches, but the likes of Milan, Atalanta, Lazio, Fiorentina and Bologna have all changed.

As a disclaimer to this, there is still just under two weeks of the mercato remaining at the time of publishing, which will very much feed into some of the calls that the staff have made. However, we

Without further ado, Oliver, Anthony, Isak, Madison, Stefano, Lorenzo, Ahmed, Ivan, Rohit and Nikita put what is left of their reputations on the line.

Scudetto winner

Oli: Inter. I just cannot see past how easily they won it last year and the fact they have lost no big stars while strengthening the depth they have. All that could derail them is the distraction of Europe, but even then they should be able to juggle it fine.

Isak: AC Milan. I’ve chosen us in the last two predictions (sigh), so let’s hope third time’s the charm!

Ben: Inter.

Anthony: Inter.

Madison: Inter.

Ivan: Have to go with Inter again. They have most of the core intact even if Dumfries has left for Madrid and they’ve added some quality and experience as well. Difficulty to see another scenario as it stands.

Stefano: Inter.

Lorenzo: Napoli (I just don’t see Inter defending the league at all).

Nikita: Inter.

Rohit: 

Inter Milan. No reason to see why they shouldnt. Continuity from last season, no major sales and a good replacement for Dumfries in Djed Spence. Their performances in UCL has to be seen though. Last season the early knockout from the competition helped them a lot.

Top seven in order

Oli: Inter, Napoli, Como, Roma, Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina. Napoli still have quality and I can see Allegri having a bounce-back year. Como’s squad is very exciting, and with Fabregas. Roma’s starting XI is looking very strong, and continuity with Gasperini really helps. As for Milan, I feel the style will take a while to bed in, and with a tough first 10 games on paper, it could leave a big gap to make up.

Isak: AC Milan, Inter, Como, Napoli, Roma, Juventus, Atalanta.

Ben: Milan, Roma, Juventus, Como, Napoli, Fiorentina.

Anthony: Inter, Como, Napoli, Juventus, Milan, Roma, Fiorentina.

Madison: Inter, Milan, Juve, Como, Napoli, Roma, Lazio.

Ivan: Inter, Milan, Juve, Roma, Napoli, Como, Fiorentina.

Stefano: Inter, Roma, Como, Napoli, Milan, Juventus, Fiorentina.

Lorenzo: Napoli, Inter, Juve, Milan (I am being very very hopeful), Roma, Como, Fiorentina.

Nikita: Inter, Milan, Juve, Roma, Napoli, Atalanta, Como.

Rohit: Inter, Roma, Como, Napoli. Status quo from last season. I know Napoli has Allegri but he has a better attack at Napoli than he did with Milan. I believe his Scudetto experience will get them over the finish line. Has to be seen what Como do with European football.

Then Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina. Fiorentina probably had the most intense market but Grosso has not shown enough in his career. As for Milan, as of me writing on 21st August, they haven’t done enough business. We are 1-2 injuries away from a decimated attack.

Relegated teams

Oli: Lecce, Frosinone, Monza. Lecce were very fortunate to stay up last season and will struggle to score goals. Frosinone could pull off some shocks but don’t look to have the depth. Monza have done nowhere near enough business.

Isak: Cagliari, Venezia, Frosinone.

Ben: Frosinone, Lecce, Monza.

Anthony: Venezia, Frosinone, Lecce.

Madison: Monza, Venezia, Genoa.

Ivan: Monza, Frosinone, Lecce.

Stefano: Lecce, Monza, Frosinone.

Lorenzo: Frosinone, Lecce, Monza.

Nikita: Frosinone, Venezia, Cagliari.

Rohit: Lecce, Monza, Frosinone.

Coppa Italia: Winner and how Milan will do

Oli: Napoli to win it because Allegri is a Coppa specialist (though he wasn’t with us!). Milan to reach the semi-finals, meet Inter again but this time get beaten over two legs.

Isak: Atalanta. Semi-finals for Milan.

Ben: Roma, Milan get QF (prioritising Europe).

Anthony: Inter, Milan lose to Como in QF.

Madison: Juve. Milan will go out in the semi-finals.

Ivan: Juventus. Milan: quarter-finals.

Stefano: Fiorentina. Milan: quarter-finals.

Lorenzo: Winner: Como, Milan: semis.

Nikita: Inter, Milan semis.

Rohit: Never have we taken this competition seriously (I don’t agree with that though). I think we reach the QF depending on the injuries we get.

Europa League: Winner and how Milan will do

Oli: Hard to call prior to the draw being made, but semi-finals as a minimum must be the target. There though a tough opponent could await, maybe even Juventus. I fancy Benfica to win it.

Isak: Benfica. Quarter-finals for Milan.

Ben: Milan beat Palace in the final (be unfathomably optimistic).

Anthony: Milan reach the semis.

Madison: Milan, bringing it home.

Ivan: Milan to win it.

Stefano: Milan.

Lorenzo: Final (winner will be Leverkusen).

Nikita: Milan.

Rohit: A competition Ruben Amorim has done well enough in. I think we reach the QF or the SF.

Capocannoniere winner

Oli: Lautaro Martinez. Feels like a formality again if he stays fit. If Como sign Moise Kean, he could push him close with a rebound year.

Isak: Rasmus Højlund. Allegri-ball isn’t exactly known for goals galore, but I’ve got a feeling about the Dane.

Ben: Goncalo Ramos (be unfathomably optimistic x2).

Anthony: Lautaro.

Madison: Hojlund.

Ivan: I think Milan under Amorim will score a lot more regardless of the overall results so going with Ramos here.

Stefano: Malen.

Lorenzo: Ramos.

Nikita: Lautaro.

Rohit: Lautaro Martinez.

Milan’s top scorer

Oli: Goncalo Ramos, though I don’t see him scoring 20+ in the league. The attacking production could well be shared out again, but Ramos is a good focal point so he might get 20-25 in all comps.

Isak: Goncalo Ramos. We can only hope that he’s the No.9 we need, even if I think he will also be important with several assists.

Ben: Ramos.

Anthony: Ramos.

Madison: Ramos.

Ivan: Ramos.

Stefano: Ramos.

Lorenzo: Ramos.

Nikita: Ramos.

Rohit: Goncalo Ramos. If they provide enough service for him then no doubt he will give goals.

Most assists for Milan

Oli: Christian Pulisic. That attacking midfielder role feels tailor-made for him and I can see him feeding off Ramos and those around him well.

Isak: Samuel Chukwueze. Perhaps a bit of a cop-out answer with the Man Utd friendly still in our heads, but provided he gets playing time, it feels like a pretty good choice to me.

Ben: Pulisic.

Anthony: Rabiot.

Madison: Pulisic.

Ivan: Moreira.

Stefano: Moreira.

Lorenzo: Chukwueze.

Nikita: Chukwueze.

Rohit: Chukwueze.

Milan’s player of the season

Oli: Mario Gila. I think this is the signing of the summer so far in Serie A, and he is absolutely pivotal for the way Amorim wants to play, especially with an attacking right side.

Isak: Mario Gila. There are many realistic candidates here, but I feel like the Spaniard will play a crucial role in both phases of the game.

Ben: Jashari.

Anthony: Ramos.

Madison: Ramos.

Ivan: Ramos.

Stefano: Pulisic.

Lorenzo: Ramos.

Nikita: Gila.

Rohit: Ramos.

Milan’s breakout performer

Oli: Ardon Jashari. Perhaps not an edgy pick given he cost over €30m one year ago, but there is a perfect spot in the double pivot for him and we have seen it in preseason. I think he can make himself undroppable.

Isak: Francesco Camarda. Since he’s expected to get more playing time, and has looked good in pre-season, this feels like a no-brainer to me.

Ben: I don’t know about ‘breakout’ but Chukwueze/Jashari (suppose both are somewhat known quantities). If they don’t count, I think Torriani gives some big reasons to think about Maignan’s future.

Anthony: Moreira.

Madison: Ramos.

Ivan: I think it’s about time we saw a healthy Jashari and it just might be his year to shine.

Stefano: Jashari.

Lorenzo: Jashari (it’s his time this season, he will flourish this year).

Nikita: Jashari.

Rohit: Jashari.
