90min: Milan scouted Feyenoord star during two-goal display vs. Ajax

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan were one of the teams who had a scout present to watch Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez in action against Ajax, a report claims.

It has been well documented that Milan intend to invest in a striker next summer having failed to land a long-term successor to Olivier Giroud during the window that has just closed, at least unless Luka Jovic recovers his Eintracht Frankfurt form.

According to 90min, Milan have cast their eyes on Gimenez who has 19 goals in 25 Eredivisie games in 2023 so far. Not only that, but they had a scout at Feyenoord’s game against their hated rivals Ajax, and he impressed.

The Mexico international scored twice and got an assist before Ajax supporters got the game abandoned by raining down flares from the stands in a seen not too dissimilar to the Champions League quarter-final between Milan and Inter in 2005.

However, the Rossoneri were not the only club to send a delegate as Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham watched the 22-year-old striker, as did Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Inter, Juventus and Napoli.

The report adds that scouts have been watching winger Calvin Stengs, right-back Lutsharel Geertruida and forward Igor Paixao too, so it is possible that Milan kept an eye on other players too. Gimenez has a deal with the Rotterdam side until 2027.

    1. For Gimenez we can spill cash because he’s young.
Taremi doesn’t worth the money Porto asked so we passed (and as you can see anybody else as well)
