AC Milan and their city rivals Inter have both expressed an interest in signing Andrey Santos on loan from Chelsea, a report claims.
Santos signed for Chelsea in January from Vasco Da Gama but at that time didn’t qualify for a work permit to play in England, so he went back to Vasco on loan. He is now eligible to play in England after the bureaucratic issues were resolved.
According to 90min, several clubs have contacted Chelsea about the idea of taking the 19-year-old on loan for next season. Both Milan clubs have come forward, as have Porto and Sporting CP, while there are clubs interested from Germany and France.
However, Chelsea sources have told them that new boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to asses the teenager during the preseason preparations.
So far the coaching staff ‘have been hugely impressed’ with Santos’ progress and thus he could actually play a role in the first team squad next season.
We will again develop players for other clubs? Like with Brahim Diaz? WHY?
I don’t really believe in this transfer, but a loan can be beneficial for several reasons. 1- If there are no good options on the market to fill a certain role, a loan can buy the club 1-2 yrs. to find the right solution. 2- Maybe you want the player to form a bond to the club, in case he should become available in the future. 3- You want to show the world that your club can develop talent, which makes your team more attractive for “wonderkids” looking for the next step in their career.
Good thinking, agreed
Loaning player is not always bad, for example without loaning Brahim Diaz it’s doubtful we reach what we got these past 3 seasons.
There’s also Chelsea that loan Joao Felix for 11m… and he return 4 goals for them
“WHY?”
Because we don’t have the money to do “CDKs” every summer. That’s why.
