90min: Milan linked with move for in-form Sporting CP striker

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan have been linked with a move for Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres who has been in superb form since he moved to Sporting CP, a report claims.

As has been reported by 90min, the Rossoneri are very aware of how well Gyökeres has settled into life in Portugal after he made the move from Coventry City in the summer.

Gyökeres very nearly took Coventry into the Premier League with 21 league goals in 2022/23, which led to many top clubs looking very closely at the 25-year-old.

Sporting won the race and he has now scored 11 goals in 13 games for the Portuguese side. He signed a five-year contract which means that a hefty fee would be needed to make a move happen.

He moved for €20m in the summer and Sporting will expect to make a profit if he leaves so soon into a long contract having been in great form.

There is no suggestion that Gyökeres will be pushing for the move, but he is one of many striker targets that Milan are looking at.

    1. We have a good history with Swedish players, not many played for us though. Many legends like Gre-No-Li and Ibra. But yeah I think he will cost 50M considering it is sporting.

  1. Lol, no chance. The time for Milan to sign the players is before they have a break out season at a Champions League team. This one is a missed chance, not a future signing.

  2. Viktor was a great player whilst with us at Coventry City being moulded into what he is now by manager Mark Robins and his backroom staff. Hopefully we will receive a nice amount by way of a sell on clause.

    1. Haha i remember mark robins from his norwich and fc copenhagen, days, i didn’t realize he was coach at coventry 😀
