A Bola: Porto set date for talks with Milan coaching target Conceicao

By Euan Burns -

FC Porto are not going to hold talks with head coach Sergio Conceicao until they have competed in the Portuguese Cup final on May 26.

As reported by the Portuguese newspaper A Bola (via Milan News), Porto are not going to be making any drastic decisions when it comes to their coach.

Milan have been linked heavily with a move for Conceicao as they seek a replacement for Stefano Pioli ahead of next season, but they will have to wait for clarity on the former Inter and Lazio player’s situation.

Conceicao actually signed a contract extension recently, but Pinto da Costa then lost the presidential election against Andre Villas-Boas and it emerged that the extension was only legal if Da Costa remained as president.

Given Conceicao publicly supported Da Costa in the run-up to the elections, it is not a settled situation in Porto.

Porto are set to face Liga Portugal champions Sporting CP in the cup final at Jamor on May 26 and only after that match will serious talks take place that result in a decision.

Milan may want to already have a new coach in place before the end of the month, meaning Conceicao may need to step out of line if he is to become Milan coach.

  1. What is this bool-sheet? Weren’t they supposed to have a discussion today? Seriously you can’t even tell what is genuine news and what isn’t. Yesterday an article claims Sesko is the chosen man and today another article claims he’s behind Zekzee. Maybe it’s time to take a break for like a month when all things must have been resolved. It’s becoming a joke.

  2. That’s silly season, man, the same pain in the ass every fvckin’ year, maybe getting worst because of the social media.

  3. This is ridiculous, we will end up with Fonseca…
Just call his agent and set the terms if he wants to come good if not move on to Sarri.

  4. Guys just leave it. Like the silence from the club makes media come with tons of stupid and no-sense ideas. In 3 weeks time we will know everything – until then just baseless speculations. I’m pretty sure the transfers and the coach has been long decided.
