Abate happy with ‘attitude and desire’ of lesser-used players after 7-0 win – video

By Oliver Fisher -

Ignazio Abate was full of praise for his side as Milan Primavera beat Virtus Entella 7-0 in the round of 32 of the Coppa Italia yesterday.

The headlines were stolen by Francesco Camarda in a fantastic team performance as he scored a first half hat-trick which helped put Milan 5-0 up going into the break. Goals from Sala, Perina, Liberali and an own-goal completed the scoring.

After the match, Abate spoke to Milan TV to give his assessments on the game, which makes it six wins out of six across all competitions to begin the season.

“Beyond the result, which is very relative given the strength of the opponent – with respect – I was interested in the attitude and desire of the boys, of those who found less playing time,” he said.

“They are very young boys, some are 2007-born, and I’m very happy with the attitude and desire they have to put me in difficulty. I’m very happy they have the mentality.

“We need to reset because on Saturday we have a match in Florence and it will be a football war. We will prepare as best we can. It won’t be easy, but I am convinced that we will play a good match.”

  1. Camarda just keeps scoring. Hope they don’t put too much pressure on the kid so he can continue his stunning developmental path. and let’s hope we don’t sell to city..
