A Bola: Chelsea discussed AC Milan star during meeting with Sporting amid €20m fine

By Isak Möller -

Rafael Leao is yet to renew his contract with AC Milan and talks are underway between the parties to solve the matter. In the meantime, Chelsea have also been doing their research as they remain interested.

Chelsea tried to sign the Portuguese winger already last summer but Milan stood firm on their €150m demand. However, as a contract renewal hasn’t been signed yet, the Blues are keeping tabs on the situation.

According to A Bola, as cited by MilanNews, a delegation of Sporting were in London this week to meet with both Chelsea and Barcelona. The parties discussed Leao and the €20m fine that the winger and Lille owe the Portuguese side.

Leao continues to negotiate with Milan and the feeling is that an agreement could be reached, but Chelsea are lurking. In fact, they are convinced that they can sign Leao and that’s why they have started to look into the Sporting fine situation.

  1. They have no direction or plan on who they are signing. They need a goal scorer but are looking to sign Leao who plays in the same position as Sterling and Mudryk who they just shelled out close to $150m for combined.

    Crazy

  2. What a ludicrous story. Correct me if I’m wrong, but Sporting have nothing to do with Leao transferring to any team and cannot possible have anything to do with it.

Leao -might- end up owing Sporting money, nothing else.
