What happened last night for Tammy Abraham provided further proof that his future lays far away from his parent club Roma, a report claims.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport recall, a brace from Abraham eliminated the Giallorossi from the Coppa Italia in one of those rare circumstances when a player can actually do damage to the club that they are on loan from.
His break with the Roma fanbase was clear to see. At the moment of the substitution, the Englishman was booed by the away supporters. Surprised, Tammy made the symbol of the cup, referring to the fact that he was decisive three years ago in winning the Conference League with Mourinho.
“Everyone knows what I think of Roma, tonight with the Giallorossi fans it was hurtful, I celebrated by thanking God and I didn’t celebrate out of respect. These are things that unfortunately happen in football,” he said.
In reality things already changed in a negative sense last year when the Stadio Olimpico booed Abraham following the big misses against Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-final of the Europa League.
It was a sad way for it to end for Tammy, who immediately found himself at ease in Rome and in his first year he scored 27 goals across all competitions. In his second season that level dropped, but his relationship with the city and the fans did not.

The club decided to put him on the market anyway to recoup the huge expense of the previous season (€40m plus bonuses) until the terrible cruciate ligament injury against Spezia in the last match of the season that blocked his sale to Aston Villa.
Abraham remained in the treatment for eight months and upon his return he found a team in full crisis and his starting place now taken by Romelu Lukaku. The fans didn’t give him any excuse and after a few too many errors the first jeers came.
In the summer he got a loan switch to Milan with Alexis Saelemaekers going the other way, but he still has a contract that will expire in 2027 with Roma. A return seems difficult, and he must earn a stay with the Rossoneri after Santiago Gimenez’s arrival.
He can be a nice back up for Milan ….
Agreed. He always work hard and give his all. The ability is there as we saw yeasterday. He just need confidence and continuity. Then he can be a great backup for Gimenez.
Let him just stay at Milan
I feel for Tammy, I’m sure he would have celebrated the goals if he knew the Roma fans would boo him. He hasn’t had a lot to celebrate this season, he made a nice gesture and got slapped for it.
Let him go back in summer.
Thank you but we need better players.
On good match occassionally doesn’t cut it.
yes let him stay at Milan. on the bench he always seemed to be mentally in the game (motivated, pushing his teammates, etc.). considering he was deputy for Morata (who didnt add anything) we should rate this attitude highly, because many other players would probably have complained and brought bad mood into the team.
also when he came on late, he was always one of the main pillars to defend set pieces. imho he has the quality for a second striker in 442, but even if someone is saying hes not good enough for that, he is still a very good deputy #9 (a profile that is not easy to find).
Agreed completely.
I’m not his fan or of any striker that doesn’t score goals but love his commitment and fighting spirit. Wouldn’t mind him as a backdrop.
Considering the contributions given his minutes, he’s actually a pretty good support striker/backup. We just get swayed by his open goal misses. He’s at what… 8G/3A’s so far in all competitions?
8G/5A, which is not too bad overall but he receives a lot of service.
He has 0,25 non-penalty goals per 90, but 0,45 non-penalty XG per 90.
Let him stay as a backup for Santi. He is better than morata, jovic, 23/24 giroud. Has a good work ethic and attitude
His salary is probably too high for a backup
40 mil and his salary are too high to be a back up striker
Tammy’s first goal against Roma yesterday, headed with power and precise placement into the far corner of the net, was a feat of exceptional aerial athleticism. His leap high into the air, from a standing position, to meet the ball was a wonder to behold. It was arguably the best individual goal of ACM’s season to date.
If Roma being reasonable and sell Tammy for under 20m, and he willing to lower his salary into 4m/year, then we can buy Tammy.
If not, then we will look for others.
Tomori is a good player, he is also a Milan fan, and he loves her team, why we have to lose Tomori, losing her is not wise
A great player, he has started to regain his fitness after that injury set back.Milan need to sign him now before he becomes more expensive.
