AC Milan and the New York Yankees have further deepened their partnership, one that sees two iconic sporting brands come together.
When RedBird Capital took over the club – led by Gerry Cardinale – it quickly became clear that the ownership group wished to leverage their ties to the Yankees in order to boost Milan’s profile in the United States, and vice versa.
A partnership was announced with the YES Network (Yankees Entertainment and Sports) which allows for the screening of Milan-related content on their channel, something which will boost the number of eyes in the States that are seeing the Rossoneri.
In addition to that, the USA tour this summer was another sign of a desire to grow in that American market, and Milan played Manchester City at Yankee Stadium, a game that they edged 3-2 in a five-goal thriller in front of a very good crowd.

Returning to play for the first time since 2012 at the legendary Yankee Stadium, Milan may have felt a bit at home, given the close strategic partnership with the Yankees that the RedBird acquisition brought to AC Milan, on whose board Randy Levine – president of the Yankees – sits among the directors.
A closeness of the two most iconic clubs in the world also evidenced by the participation of Hal Steinbrenner, Yankees owner, and Randy Levine, in Gerry Cardinale’s welcome to the Manchester City executives as they arrived at the stadium before the game.
Not only that, but just a couple of days ago it was announced that the Rossoneri and the Bronx Bombers have come together to launch a new limited edition merchandise range, one which combines the iconic logos of the two teams.
To celebrate the collaboration, Giorgio Furlani commented on the release.
“With the introduction of the ACM x New York Yankees collection, we celebrate a unique moment in the history of our two iconic brands,” he said.
“The entirety of this collaboration is a homage to the transcendent impact that the cities of Milan and New York maintain on fashion and culture around the world, and we are eager to see that cross-cultural spirit reflected as people enjoy the collection.”
