AC Milan have, this afternoon, confirmed the signing of Joao Felix from Chelsea on an initial loan deal. The Portuguese attacker has been hyped heavily ahead of the move, and he has now arrived.
Felix’s name has been mentioned throughout January, and despite initial struggles in the structuring of a deal, it seemed like the addition could be possible in the last few days of the window, with the Blues opening themselves to a loan deal.
The big stalling point of the deal was that the London outfit did not know the situation regarding their loan list with interest present in a number of players, but things cleared, and Felix soon seemed destined for the Rossoneri.
According to reports yesterday, the Diavolo actually wrapped up a deal in the afternoon before the signings of Riccardo Sottil and Warren Bondo, but the Portuguese is the last to be announced of the trio, despite arriving at the same time as the French midfielder.
Now, the attacker has been announced on the club’s official website, and the statement reads as follows.
“AC Milan is delighted to announce the signing of João Félix Sequeira from Chelsea FC. The Portuguese attacker has signed a contract with the Club lasting until 30 June 2025.
“Born in Viseu, Portugal, on 10 November 1999, he developed as a player in his home country – at Padroense and Porto – before joining Benfica, where he made his first-team debut in 2017 and won the Portuguese league title.
“In 2019, he moved to Atletico Madrid, with whom he won La Liga, after which he wore the shirts of Barcelona and Chelsea. To date, João Félix has scored 75 goals in 259 appearances over the course of his career.
“In June 2019, João made his debut for Portugal. He has scored nine goals in 45 appearances for his country, winning the 2019 Nations League.”
Felix is a player with immense potential, as we all know, however, the issue in the past few years has been stability, which probably explains his consistency issues too. Hopefully, that problem is solved in Milano.
Welcome, Joao!
Phew, finally!
Exciting player, no doubt, and hope he does enough to make us regret not having a buy clause. Definitely have some concerns about he and Leao in the same press, but hopefully those years under Simeone pay off and he contributes to both phases.
Looking forward to seeing him, I’m not expecting the earth but if he can help us qualify for CL again next season then the investment is a bargain.
I hope so too! He is looking for redemption and I am sure Milan is a glorious name to associate with, he may himself want to stay put and enjoy his success
Herzlich Willkommen bei Mailand JOAO FELIX
Ich hoffe dass du gut für uns geht bruddy ✌️ ♥️🖤.
Welcome bro, have been expecting you here since your days at AthletiCo
A nice player hopefully will follow the upgrade as Pulisic 💪♥️🖤
I remember milan was after him in his benfica youth day, remind me a lot of young kaka, i still remember he or florentino Luis was our target, now he finally come, hope he can regain his confident and form.
No time for negotiation about option or obligation to buy. Since deadline is very close. So, we can talk about that with chelsea at June. Hope he can be like Pulisic with his redemption. Wellcome Joao…❤️🖤❤️🖤
Machen wir ihn fitt, damit Chelsea ihn nachher teuer verkaufen kann. Schade haben wir keine Kaufoption.
