AC Milan haved announced that defender Léo Duarte tested positive for Coronavirus following a test carried out yesterday.
The Braizlian defender was promptly placed in home quarantine upon the discovery that he has COVID, while the other members of the team group all tested negative.
As foreseen by the protocols in force, the whole group will be tested again before tomorrow night’s match against Bodø/Glimt and will follow the preventive measures indicated by the local health authorities.
It is a big blow for Duarte who had only just got back to full match fitness and was deployed during the preseason friendlies as well as during Monday’s Serie A opener against Bologna.
It means that Milan are down to just two fully fit central defenders in Matteo Gabbia and Simon Kjaer, with Alessio Romagnoli and Mateo Musacchio also sidelined as they recovered from their respective absences.
