AC Milan booked their place in the final of the Coppa Italia with a resounding 3-0 win over Inter at San Siro, securing a 4-1 aggregate victory.
Luka Jovic is the man of the moment, as he put Milan in the first half with a header from an Alex Jimenez cross. Then, he fired in a loose ball inside the box early in the second half to double the advantage.
Tijjani Reijnders put the tie to bed in the closing stages with a lovely low shot, making it five derbies unbeaten for the season and booking a place in the Rome final.
Coppa Italia final: date and time
Put the date in your diary: Milan will play in the Coppa Italia final on May 14 at 21:00 CEST. It’s been seven years since the Rossoneri reached the final of the competition, and 22 years since they won it.
On the last two occasions Milan were beaten by their rivals Juventus, though this time there is no possibility of playing the Bianconeri given they were knocked out by Empoli in the quarter-final.
The opponent
It is almost certain that Milan will face off against Bologna next month, given that they established a commanding lead in their semi-final tie against Empoli three weeks ago.
Riccardo Orsolini got the opener then Thijs Dallinga scored a brace to mean the Rossoblu take a 3-0 lead back to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
So we will have to play against Bologna for 2 straight matches in a row, one at home and then in Rome. Should be entertaining to behold.
For Ur Info sir!!! the final is a one legged match
I know but for your info Skeeno we will play against Bologna in Serie A May 11th and then most likely against them again May 14th in the Coppa Italia final.
So Milan basically needs Bologna help.
Bologna is still fighting in Serie A, which is good. Milan, has now biggest fight – Italian Coppa.
Milan needs good Bologna games against Udine and Juventus (so they can keep pressure in serie a).
And Milan should be smart, and rest all players in home game against Bologna.
If I can say, Milan should do their best to lose game at San Siro against Bologna.
And in Final, Milan must do everything to win against Bologna, who should be more tired than Milan players.
This is one of many possibilities, but in reality, tactics which Milan should apply right now 2 games before first duel.
I might be wrong here but I do believe if we were to lose the final and Bologna qualifies for cl which they most likely will qualify for then the next in row to qualify for Europe will be one of the teams above us in the league standing.. Bologna will fight for the final with their lifes as they haven’t won anything in Italy of significance for the last 60-70 years or something and its one of the bigger Italian clubs historically speaking. Historically the losers of a Coppa Italia final would qualify for Europe if the other team for example won the Scudetto but I don’t believe it works that way any longer even if Bologna only qualifies for CL so I’m not really sure the approach is the right one but I would nevertheless like to see some more youngesters in the last Serie A matches of the season as that one is a lost cause.
I really thank God my darling team ac milan for the victory against inter
Does anyone know where to find the tickets for retail?
